A few hours later, after police tape was put up and the car and people and the cops were all gone, this is what was there:
Someone looked over there and saw not the place of a terrible car accident, but the opportunity to live out a dream.
And really, haven't we all had that dream? To be in a situation where making a sign of the Kool-Aid man breaking through a wall would make sense?
Whoever is responsible for this is an amazing angel.

Before Family Guy, they had actual Kool-Aid advertisements of him smashing through walls. I'm pretty sure this is in reference to the actual thing and not some parody on a television show.

I for one only knew Kool-Aid exists because it appears in Family Guy.
Keep in mind that while the Kool-Aid Man bits on Family Guy were indeed inspired by the original commercials, the idea of using him in such a humorous, parodying nature was widely popularized by Family Guy. The same generation that grew up with the Kool-Aid Man busting down walls ended up watching Family Guy in high school/college. I have little doubt that the proprietor of this art has seen not only the original commercials, but the Family Guy episode as well. Admittedly it's ambiguous as to whether or not the first anonymous poster has seen the original commercials, but I think it's reasonable to assume that he did, as it would have made the Family Guy episodes resonate with him more, leading him to post as he did.

Because this was in the US its safe to assume the first place that they were exposed to the kool aid man was through the kool aid.
It's a sad, sad day when people think that this parodies Family guy, and not the original source materials. Reminds me of a time when a comment poster thought John Woo's "Red Cliff" movie was based on the "Dynasty Warriors" video games.
Then again, most of today's culture thinks Avatar is original, too, so, there you go.

wooooowwwww....yea kool aid man was sooo totally first. family guy parodys everything. so just because they did a parody of star wars mean that they came up with the idea then the movies were made...im 25 and i clearly remember tv commercials from childhood and even in high school.
